Alaia Balsa Blank
If you want to shape your own Alaia - This 45mm thick solid balsa blank is the easiest board to make. We recommend using Balsa for your Alaia and laminating it. It is a good alternative to Paulownia since this makes the board more durable and you will have long lasting fun with it. Testing by CSIRO in Australia has shown that Paulownia wood is very attractive for wood-boring insects. Paulownia species are also used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Endoclita excrescens.
