Mini Malibu blank - 3mm balsa skin with an EPS foam core
If you want to shape your own minimal, this 3mm balsa-skinned blank is ideal fo you. It features a recycled EPS (Expanded Polystyrene Foam) foam core making it super light but strong and durable. The blank is pre-shaped, the plan shape, rocker, dome on the deck and bottom are set. You need to finish the rails off with a planer & sandpaper. Then decide on tail shape (square, swallow, pin etc.). Cut and sand tail & nose to your liking. Do an overall finish, sand the board once more and it's ready for glassing. Due to the unique combination of Balsa and EPS, the finished board has great flex and flotation characteristics. It will be the strongest and most durable in your quiver.
The time you'll need to finish the board depends on experience (approximately 3-8 hours).
