Alaia blank - 45mm solid flat balsa

If you want to shape your own Alaia - This 45mm thick solid balsa blank is the easiest board to make. Specify what you want - any size and stringer combination is possible (download the custom order form here). The blank is a flat rocker and flat deck and bottom – just like the church door (6'0 only weighs 3.5 kgs unfinished and 4.1 kgs when glassed and finished ). The blank is pre-shaped to your specifications, the plan shape, and the deck and bottom are finished. You need to finish the rails off with a block planer & sandpaper. Cut and sand tail & nose to your requirements. Do an overall finish sand and it's ready for glassing. The time you'll need to finish the board depends on experience (approximately 2-4 hours).

This blank is suitable for everyone - the experienced shaper looking for a new material/experience as well as absolute novices who want to shaper their first surfboard.
