Riley have been shaping balsawood surfboards since 1996. Unlike the mass produced surfboards coming in from Asia and other places we build everything using our own hands, custom built. Everyone has different requirements and the serious surfer demands his/her board built to their own individual specifications. We strongly believe that only a shaper who is a surfer and understands the history of surfing can create a board that will fulfil the desires of the person who is searching for the ultimate board. Every board is unique and of the highest quality. Most importantly my boards are entirely Australian made and are guaranteed to outlast and outperform the imported "pop outs". We use tried and tested materials to ensure a quality creation. I import my own quality balsa from South America and regularly return to ensure the quality is of the highest standard. I have been importing this balsa for over 13 years. We now have a good selection of Australian grown balsa to choose from. All other materials and labour are 100% Australian. Mark Gasnier at Riley Showroom

Mark Gasnier was in the show room last week checking out the range of balsa boards – with the fish taking his fancy! Mark popped in with Scott Campbell, the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Dragons, and both were impressed with the boards and are keen to have a group surf on the boards!

Balsa School

One of the new initiatives this year is to get out to the schools – see the group photo of the open day at Yowie Bay Public School. Mark visited the Year 2 class and assisted all the 8 year old to make their very own mini balsa wood Malibu!

Mark said “I was stoked because the kids were stoked – you should have seen their faces! Even the parents were jealous!”
